An Easy, Yet Chic Way to Wear Braids

Back in August I reported on the top five hair trends for fall (see post here) and one came as no surprise as it's been hot for years and just keeps reinventing itself - braids. It seems we just can't get enough of the intertwined style.  Like you, I admire intricate braids like box styles, waterfalls and fishtails, but just can't do them on myself. Braids don't have to be complicated to look chic.  Check out my video tutorial to see for yourself.

Beauty Myths Debunked on CBS 'The Couch'

Rise and grind beautiful people!  This morning I began the new year with a segment on CBS The Couch quizzing the lovely Carolina Bermudez, Lisa Kerney and John Elliot on the most common beauty myths.  Think you know a bit about old wives tales?  Check it out.  I adore John for making me blush on air as he announced my engagement!

Spotting Fall Street Style on Better TV

During my latest Better TV segment I got to chat with Audra Lowe about street style and beauty trends.  While I'm not a street style photographer or blogger, I love street style.  It's about celebrating who you are and your own style, which goes beyond fashion.  I have to call out my BFF, Michele, who modeled for me in this segment wearing black and white prints. Check it out and meet my BFF!

3 DIY Summer Hair Solutions Demonstrated on Better TV

I had so much fun with Audra Lowe and JD on Better TV DIYing some summer hair solutions.  If your color's fading, hair's feeling dry and fried or completely frizzy check out the video.  I have to say, I was prepping for this with my intern, Emily and we had a blast DIYing in my kitchen.  If you have a night off, I highly recommend doing some of these things with your BFF.

My Cross Country TV Travels... The Real Deal

For the past two weeks I've been traveling the country doing TV segments in many different cities on fall beauty and fashion trends.  It's been such an incredible experience – living out of a suitcase, catching up on work in airports, meeting new people everyday while trying to keep myself looking refreshed and my energy up (the biggest challenge of all). So far I visited everywhere from Florida to Oregon and back again.  Luckily, everything was pretty seamless and I even managed to somewhat adapt to time changes with the help of two of my favorite substances – coffee and red wine.  It's amazing the little things New Yorkers take for granted like having convenience at our finger tips.  Imagine walking around downtown Phoenix for blocks in 104 degree heat in search of a nail salon and never finding one or getting so excited checking into a hotel in Indianapolis to see the word "spa" and realizing it was just a whirlpool.  And taxi cabs?  Forget about it.  This New Yorker doesn't rent cars because clearly she hasn't driven in years and flew her way through three cities in Florida.  It was the only way!

Now, I have one more week to go and will be visiting Dallas and St. Louis.  I can't wait to see what each city has to share as I've never been to any of them and can't wait to see what the news stations are like.  But I will say that after witnessing the country so far, there's no place like home.

*oh and the map above... my dad drew it to keep track of where I'm going.
