Eyebrows can be confusing. Between thick, thin, dark, and light; it can sometimes be hard to figure out what works best for you. It's no surprise, however, that perfect brows are the trick to taking over the world (hello, Amal Clooney). So what's the secret to perfect eyebrows? We interviewed brow guru, Anastasia Soare, celebrity brow expert and founder of Anastasia of Beverly Hills, to find out.

"You were born with the brow that’s right for you," explains Anastasia. Work with that thickness to hone the arch and tweeze unruly brow hairs outside of your brow area in the direction of hair growth to sculpt and shape the correct brow." So, no matter who you are, perfect brows are attainable!  Just work with what your momma gave ya.

"I recommend tweezing at home as needed, because it is more precise than other methods." It's no wonder Anastasia's favorite tools include stencils and a good pair of tweezers. Of course we all have a handy pair of tweezers, but have you ever thought about using stencils?  So smart!  Once shaped, she recommends, "Layering powder, pencil, and gel will give you a multidimensional brow that looks natural and polished."

Eyebrows are truly one of the hidden secrets to a beautiful face. The prettiest celebs have the best brows. Fact. Need more proof?

Enough said.

The Next Thing? Ombre Brows, You Be the Judge

Just when we thought we've seen it all, another creative artist comes up with a twist on a trend. Surprised?  You shouldn't be.  Ombre, the gradual fade from dark to light, started with hair color, transpired into nail art, a way to wear lipstick and now, a statement making brow.  First spotted on the Peter Som Spring 2013 runways, Hollywood's Brow Artist, Anastasia Soare, is the first to declare the ombre brow a look for the real world.  I spoke with her about her new colored brow powder and how to use it. What sparked the idea for using hair powder in your eyebrows too?

The first thing I consider always when playing with product is eyebrows, and I was loving the way Hypercolor looked in my hair. I tested Tornado Teal on my brows and feel in love.

Ombre lips were spotted all over the runways during NY Fashion Week.  Do you see ombre brows as the next big thing?

Yes I do… especially with the launch of my new products for Summer. I can’t give away all the details yet, but the new product will make it even easier to get this look! The trend is also very popular with "regular brow shades."

How would you use hair powder to create an ombre effect on your brows?

It’s so easy! Use a lighter powder at the front of the brow and from the highest point of your brow arch down towards the ends go dark. I prefer to line the top and bottom of the brows in front and apply very little powder in order to keep the brows truly lighter in front and filled in and darker towards the ends.

When do you think the look is appropriate and who can rock it?

The beauty of my job is that anything goes as it’s a creative environment. I think that ombre brows with natural brow powder can be worn anytime, but maybe save the pink brows for a night out on the town.

You can find Anastasia Beverly Hills Hypercolor Brow and Hair Powder for $12.50 at Anastasia.net.

Get the Look: Anne Hathaway's Customized Lip Color at the NYC Les Miserables Premiere

Sultry is one word to describe Anne Hathaway's look at the NYC premiere of Le Miserables this week.  To be honest, I'm not sure if I'm more envious of her perfectly painted lips or the mirror-like shine in her hair.  She looked stunning.  Chanel Makeup Artist Katie Lee gave me the scoop on how to get her flawless skin and velvet-like fuchsia lip (which was a blend of three shades!) that complimented her edgy Tom Ford gown. "We wanted Anne to look slick and chic in her hometown of NYC," Lee commented.

  1. For a velvety finish on the skin, Lee used Chanel Perfection Lumere Long Wear Fluid Makeup SPF 10.  Then gave them a slight flush with Laura Mercier Cream Blush in Prailne.
  2. For a wet look, she applied Chanel Illusion D'Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Fantasme on Anne's lids.
  3. After applying individual false lashes, two coats of mascara were applied.
  4. Anne's eyebrows are one of her most important features.  Lee spent a lot of time grooming and elongating them with Anastasia's products including her Clear Brow Gel to set them into place.
  5. The lip is a combination of three colors!  Lee mixed: Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour in Rouge Noir and Palipitante with Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Colour in La Somptueuse.  Try that at home!

5 Celebrity Inspired Winter Beauty Trends, with Wendy Williams!

This was by far one of the most exciting segments I've done.  Picture this – It's 3pm on Friday afternoon right after Sandy.  I'm checking into a hotel room across the city to indulge in a shower and some heat and I received a call from a producer from the Wendy Williams Show. An hour before I went live the segment was finalized.  That's how it works (sometimes) in live TV.  I love my job.  As soon as I get a clip I'll post it, but here's a link to the information for now and a list of the products used after the jump.  Guys, I had my own green room!

The Beauty of Being Bicoastal... Conquering Dreams One Salon and Champagne Glass at A Time

Every morning when I wake up I'm truly excited about everything.  I have an excitement for life, I can't help it.  I guess you can say I've been very fortunate.  This past week when I woke up daily to sunshine, perfect weather and a week full of new potential opportunities my excitement level turned into a passionate desire to take in every moment as I was living my dream, in Hollywood.

I packed two suitcases, brought all of my beauty loot (seriously this was not a travel sized ordeal), settled into my hotel room as if it was my second apartment, all shoes in a row, jewelry laid out – the only thing that was missing was Joe.  Thinking: one day I will be bicostal.  One day, or should I say we will be?

In between and after the work I had a blast with my LA besties, Jamie Stone, Sydne Summer and Nadine Jolie.  Just as bright eyed as the first, second and third time I came out here, we caught up over cocktails poolside at my hotel, the Avalon in Beverly Hills, went shopping on Rodeo Drive, got blowouts at the DryBar, had my brows groomed at Anastasia Beverly Hills and attended the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic.

With the way things are going, looks like I'll be heading back again very soon!
