The #1 Way I Take Time to Slow Down

It's a lifestyle.

If you've been reading my blog for a long time, then you watched my life and content evolve throughout the years and are right there with me.  Can you believe I've been doing this for eight years?  As I became more wellness minded in my personal life, my definition of beauty changed and content shifted to a place of raw authenticity that I'm proud to share with you.  Today, I'm excited to announce that I've partnered with Rituals, the number one selling bath and body line in Europe that's rapidly making its mark in the US.  Truthfully, if I could create my own beauty brand, I would follow the same formula – putting wellness first and (what we think of as) beauty second.

At a recent on-boarding with the brand, they asked me to share how I slow down and the first thing that came to my mind wasn’t yoga or meditation in the traditional sense, but instead my view of the world – seeing through eyes of compassion.  As a yogi and student of A Course in Miracles, my view of the world shifted throughout the years from one of fear, which made me on edge, defensive and less accepting of the unknown to a place of love.  It’s been years now that I’ve taken on this new view (one that our society doesn’t teach) and it allows me to be at peace with myself as well as the good and the bad of the world around me.  Compassion is the greatest form of beauty and I truly believe that being mindful about how I perceive things allows me to be more responsive and less reactive in a meaningful way.

At this meeting, I found myself surrounded by like-minded individuals who are interested in helping others find peace within themselves and take time for self care. For me, taking time to be mindful of my perception of the world and practice self care is non-negotiable in my busy schedule.  Whether nourishing my mind, body and soul through my meditation and yoga practice, eating nutritious meals, pampering my skin, taking vacations and spending time with family and friends, I know that those elements in my life are necessary in order to be healthy, happy and successful.

As a yogi and beauty editor, I’m lucky to be able to marry my passions in my work and personal life and found home with Rituals.
