I first met Cait about ten years ago when I was a beauty editor at Cosmopolitan magazine. At the time she was a beauty editor at Life & Style, and I looked up to her as she seemed to have it all figured out. She's always been supportive of my freelance career and I'm incredibly proud of what she's accomplished during the past few years. Now a cancer survivor, Cait utilized her relationships in beauty and personal experience to help others fight their battles while looking and feeling their best by writing "Pretty Sick: The Beauty Guide for Women with Cancer." At her book launch party, she said, "This was never about me writing a book. This was about me wanting to help others." And that's exactly the type of person Cait is – selfless. Here, she speaks to her journey and gives valuable life advice.
Lynne Florio & Renee Tavoularis, Co-Founders of Well Within Beauty
When I first learned about WELL WITHIN skincare, I was impressed, simply because it was so clean. Then, I had the pleasure of meeting Co-founders, Lynne Florio and Renee Tavoularis, and fell in love with their mission. As beauty industry veterans (they both worked for La Prairie for over 20 years), their wellness journeys lead them to take a leap of faith and run with a vision. As an entrepreneur myself, I understand what it takes to bring a passion to life. Here, Lynne (LF) and Renee (RT) talk about starting the company, the best advice they've ever gotten and their definitions of beauty.
Maria Menounos, E! News & SIRIUS XM Host
I love having the ability to interview people who inspire me. Today, I'm excited to share my latest with Maria Menounos, host of E! News and SIRIUS XM’s “Conversations with Maria Menounos." From her impressive hosting career to fit bod, she's someone I've always admired. Here, she talks about her new partnership with Rally Health, her eating and workout habits (you know you're dying to know) and the business advice from her husband that's kept her going.
Sophia Gushee, Healthy Living Expert & Author
I recently became familiar with the work of Sophia Gushee and instantly wanted to know more about her. As a healthy living expert, she helps people detox their homes! Cool, right? In her new book, The A to Z of D-Toxing, she proves that a healthy lifestyle goes beyond eating right and exercising. Here, she talks detoxing steps, her favorite clean beauty buys and how toxic exposure in the home can lead to hormone disruption.
Anna Mitsios, Naturopath & Founder of Edible Beauty
This year at the Indie Beauty Expo (see post on best sellers), I met several inspiring entrepreneurs in the 'natural' beauty space, but one of them, the Founder of Edible Beauty, Anna Mitsios, really intrigued me. As an Austrailian naturopath working in a fertility clinic, she studied the affects of skincare ingredients on hormones, which brought upon her passion project, Edible Beauty.
Kimberly Snyder, Nutritionist & Author
Earlier this week I had the pleasure of attending a media launch party for Deepak Chopra and Kimberly Snyder's new book, Radical Beauty. As an avid follower of both, the spiritual leader and nutritionist, I was excited to hear what they had to say and cannot get enough of the book. It's by far the most scientifically comprehensive beauty book that's landed on my desk (and trust me, I've seen a ton). Here, Kimberly dishes on her inspiration behind the book, food diary and finding balance.
Elle Macpherson, Supermodel & Actress
Supermodel, Elle Macpherson has graced the cover of Sports Illustrated five times through out her career. Known as "The Body," here, she shares a peek into her food diary and fitness regimen.
Denise Mari, Founder of Organic Avenue & Author
One of my favorite go-to's in NYC for a bite or juice has always been Organic Avenue. Hands down, it was well established, innovative and jumping before juices became trendy. This past year, when hearing the news of the store closings, I was devastated! Of course, there are other places I could go for a smoothie these days, but this was my spot and I know many NYers who felt the same way. But guess what? It's back and Founder, Denise Mari, took the time to share details about the new story openings, veganism and her favorite NYC restaurants.
