Stepping Out of My Comfort Zone

I'm such a creature of habit, especially when it comes to my workouts.  When it began to feel like ground hog day, I knew it was time to shake things up and challenged myself to get out of my comfort zone.  Not only has it been invigorating, but my body has been responding differently to the exercises (something I def needed) and I feel inspired.

My morning routine Monday through Friday always consists of the same smoothie (3 oz. almond milk, 3 oz. water, 1 banana, dash of cacao powder, 1 tbs of almond butter) and then barre class at 9:15.  Then I pepper yoga classes in throughout the week and religiously practice on the weekends.  While I love both forms of exercise and know they work well for my body, there's so much more out there.

I was inspired to shake things up while away on vacation last month.  I took a Bikram inspired, hot yoga class in Salt Lake City and in Vegas, Joe and I had a private boot camp class, which consisted of an hour of circuit training.

So here I am, back in NJ and NYC and already fell back in love with boxing.  I used to do CKO, but my BFF recently invited me to join her at Rumble Boxing and I love it!  I'll be incorporating it into my week as I can definitely use some cardio and there's no feeling like smashing a boxing bag.  Talk about de-stressing!

Trying new things and getting out of my comfort zone is very much a challenge for me in all aspects of my life, but I'm going to shake it up!  Excited to see what other changes this year brings.
